Xiaomi India is now offering extended free trials of YouTube Premium to eligible users on select current devices. The company confirmed on Twitter that eligible customers will get up to three months of YouTube Premium at no additional cost. The good news is that YouTube Premium is already available with a three-month free trial and with the Xiaomi offer we can enjoy the service for longer without paying. Here’s everything you need to know.
Xiaomi announces a free subscription offer to YouTube Premium
Xiaomi has announced a new promotional offer that offers customers a free YouTube Premium subscription if they purchase an eligible smartphone from the brand. This offer is valid on select Redmi and Mi smartphones. Users will need to purchase an eligible phone, after which they can take advantage of this YouTube Premium offer, which will be valid until January 31, 2023.
Phones eligible for the YouTube Premium offer
The devices eligible for three months of free subscription are Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge and Xiaomi 11T Pro. Those who purchase the Xiaomi Pad 5, Redmi Note 11 Pro+, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11T and Redmi Note 11S will get two months of free access to the YouTube Premium subscription.
How to take advantage of Xiaomi’s YouTube Premium subscription offer?
Customers can redeem the same by opening the preloaded YouTube app on the Xiaomi smartphone. Users can then follow the on-screen instructions to redeem the offer or visit youtube.com/premium on that particular device. Xiaomi says the offer will be available on devices that were activated after February 1, 2022.
What is the real cost of YouTube Premium in India? What about the benefits?
YouTube Premium, in my opinion, is a better option than some of the other audio streaming apps in the market just because of the benefits a user gets. Users can not only use YouTube Music app for free, but also watch ad-free videos on YouTube app.
YouTube Music app allows you to download songs, watch videos, offer lyrics and other features. One essentially gets unlimited, ad-free access to over 80 million official songs and other content. It even supports Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, so one will be able to watch content on YouTube even after closing the app or doing other things on the phone. The price of YouTube Premium subscription is Rs 129 per month in India.
