If we go by previous rumours, Xiaomi‘s Mi Mix Fold 2 will launch in mid-2022, which means we’re less than a month away from its release. And now that release is very close, tipster Ice Universe seems to have some understanding of the design of Xiaomi’s next foldable phone.
ice universe shared on Twitter that Mi Mix Fold 2 will be the thinnest and lightest indoor foldable phone when released. That means the Mix Fold 2 will be thinner and lighter than the Oppo Find N, but that won’t be the only thing potential buyers will find appealing about the foldable phone.
The tipster says that the Mi Mix Fold 2’s external display has been “significantly” improved. However, we don’t know what improvements there are because the tipster didn’t mention them. It’s also unclear whether the Mix Fold 2 will make its way to international markets. Hopefully, Xiaomi will dispel these doubts with the official launch of the Mix Fold 2.

Unlike its predecessor, the foldable handset would feature Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG). Galaxy Z Fold 3 and OPPO Find N 5G currently use UTG technology. It is also rumored that Xiaomi will use the foldable display made by Samsung in the successor to Mix Fold.
The Mi Mix Fold 2 is expected to have an 8.1-inch main screen with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s also possible that the Mix Fold 2 will feature a redesigned hinge, which would be better than the Mi Mix Fold of origin.
